TOIS - method

method

TOIS separates and uses the individual communication channels depending on the requirements of the therapeutic work (“channel reduction”). Communication channels are literally being switched on or off. The most distant channel in terms of time and anonymity could be an email, for example.
Thus the need for control, which is typical for anxious people, is accepted by giving the client the necessary control and security. To what extend the client returns the control over the classroom management to the teacher depends on his or her regained inner security.
TOIS instruments are, as mentioned above, internet-typical means of communication which innately reduce communication on the one hand and admit substitution identities on the other hand. For example, direct teaching can be reduced to mere email contacts. This way, the client is provided with the time he or she needs and face-to-face situations can be avoided. With the help of intermediate stages such as chat, telephone or even video transmission up to face-to-face lessons the communication becomes more and more complex again.
This way, the anxiety-induced areas of social interaction that can be reduced and step by step clarified and rebuilt in the course of the therapy.
